Hello my name is Denchen Gyaltso. I was born and raised Amdo in Tibet on March 5, 1980. When I was very young I could not get any opportunity to go to School. Because of this I had to look after Yaks and sheep to help my family. I did this until I left for India to see the Dalai Lama. The journey was hard, I had to walk across snowy mountains. I finally arrived in Nepal after 24 days of walking. In Nepal, I went to the Tibetan Reception Center, there they sent me to Dharamsala, India to see the Dalai Lama. I saw the Dalai Lama and stayed in Dharamsala for 1 month. Than, I moved to south India for three years where I saw friends and relatives and make some money. I than moved back to Dharamsala for 5 months, where I studied english. I than moved to the United States of America. I now live in New York City.
